about
Kintsugi San - Time
Time, is about being overwhelmed by a particular sonic moment in a song, and having the desire to maintain that brilliant state of mind, which of course isn’t possible. It can be compared to the preciousness of loving a baby in the knowledge that is a finite experience, and it is all the more beguiling for its transient state. Or, like the heightened feeling of starting to know someone remarkable to you.
Kin - means gold. Tsugi - joinery, so together it means - to join with gold. Kintsugi is two things. One physical, and another symbolic. In Japanese art, a new practice in the 1500s was to fix a broken bowl or tea cup using a lacquer containing gold leaf. It crossed over with Japanese Philosophy, where the idea is to celebrate what is imperfect. San, is a general title (honorific) in Japan - so it could be Miss, Mrs or Mr. This is the project of Susannah Moss, who lives in Peckham, London and loves music, travelling, writing, running and taking photographs. All the writing, programming and playing is my own work.
lyrics
Time
What it was
I just can’t say
I just listen
And feel the whole
Of what it was
Give me a year
And a day
Give me all time
Give me all time
Give me all time
Give me all time
I listen back
To the symphony
A song can take you
A song can make it real
A song can carry you away
A song can bring you back
To all time
Give me all time
Give me all time
Give me all time
Time
Time
Time
